What is LU Middle?
-
LU Middle is a Tutor-led a la carte program for homeschooling families, which supplements individual families' homeschools. We do not replace primary education, which is to be provided by YOU, the parent.
Who is LU Middle For?
-
LU Middle is for families who have homeschooled for at least one (1) full school year.
-
This program is a partnership between parents & tutors.
-
NOTE: LU Middle is not a good fit for families who simply want to turn over responsibility of overseeing their student’s progress to someone else, nor for families that simply want to check the courses off their list.
What are LU Middle's Goals?
-
For young people to succeed at this level and in the next stage of life, whether it’s college, career, military, missionary, or marriage.
-
For the students to enjoy the fellowship of other homeschooled students in a structured environment.
-
We take these courses seriously (although we can also have fun learning!) & expect the students to do the same.
-
Keep the classes small (5-15) to achieve personal attention.
-
For each teen to profit academically & socially from this learning opportunity.
How does LU Middle work?
-
Parental Responsibilities
-
Courses & Tutors do not replace the parent as the primary educator.
-
Parents are expected to follow up to assure their student is accomplishing the required work.
-
It is required that all Level Up Students work hard & be monitored closely by their parents.
-
-
Student Responsibilities
-
Each student is expected to complete all assigned work from tutors outside of class time & be prepared to participate in class.
-
How much does LU Middle cost?
-
Returning & New Families: see our block schedule for cost breakdown.
What is the Registration Process?
-
Applications open on Open House in the Spring every year and the form closes every four (4) weeks where registrations are processed during our registration processing week.
-
Please fill out ONE (1) application form per student.
-
Registration starts with first applying to join Tutorials. Upon applying to LU Tutorials, you will pay a non-refundable application fee upon submission, and when it is agreed between LU Leadership & parents that LU is a good fit for your family, we will send you a course registration form to register for courses.
-
-
Payment for classes is done via invoicing through our Bookkeeper (via QuickBooks).
-
DEADLINE for ALL dropped classes is the first day of class - we start the week after Labor Day.
What are the Financial Details?
-
Parents: YOU are responsible to fully pay for all registered courses upon registration (our Bookkeeper will email you), as tutors have prepared & counted on attendance of their students for the year.

Does Level Up accept ESA+ funds?
-
While we would love to work with families who have ESA+ funds for their homeschooled students, due to the structure of Level Up Educational Academy Co-Op and Tutorials, after our investigation about the requirements of these funds we are not organizationally set up to accept NC or SC ESA+ funds as it would require us to restructure our whole organization in order to satisfy both states’ standards. We realize this may pose an inconvenience for some families, and we hope that you accept our sincerest apologies.
